What is chilli jam?

Chilli jam is a fiery spread made from chilli, onion and garlic. It’s called a jam, but it’s not the kind of jam you’d spread on toast and eat for breakfast (well, usually). Jam needs sugar to set, so most often chilli jam is made using jam sugar, which also helps to balance out the heat.

How to make chilli jam

The masters of Gingerboy have created this chilli jam using chillies, onion and garlic. To make chilli jam, you normally start by whizzing up your ingredients into a paste and then sauteing in a pan with jam sugar. When the mixture is thick and glossy it is then poured into sterilised glass jars.
